Who is from the print team raises your hand!
You've been looking forward to this post, haven't you? Why when talking about spring and summer the first thing that comes to mind is the flower and foliage prints, right? But this year's spring/summer promises with prints and patterns that are very different from the usual ones.
We separated the 4 main prints of the season for you to invest and be inspired.
In our imagination, grids may be linked to the idea of imprisonment, confinement and social isolation that we have been experiencing in the last two years. So, checkerboards were also present in some of the main shows of the season, with different formats, mixed colors, patchwork and, of course, the traditional black and white, not to mention checkered lines.
The asymmetric stripes are a launch of last winter's collections, which continued to be present in the fashion shows this Spring/Summer 2021, in the northern hemisphere, in collections of various styles. They appeared in the models with very original color combinations, straight or wavy lines and even even superimposed with prints or appliqués. From what has been seen on the catwalks, creativity will set the tone for this trend next season. One interesting striped form shown by Dolce & Gabbana was a patchwork of strips of different fabrics forming a striped pattern that was pure luxury.
Another print that promises to be present in 2021 summer looks is the tropical print. With Hawaiian inspirations and, of course, Brazilian ones, like the cheetah. The tropical floral is the face of the warmer seasons and makes any production fun and colorful in the act!
The floral gained a more delicate and sophisticated reinterpretation for this summer, the petit floral. The print is nothing more than a smaller version of the floral we were used to, with smaller flowers and lighter tones.
